About us

Our Story

Prospective Medical Professionals (PuMP) is a registered federal non-profit organization on a mission to help aspiring students understand the medical field and its careers. Founded in March of 2018, our organization started out as a group of 3 high school students who looked to tackle a problem faced by youth curious about medicine: difficulty finding medical learning opportunities for secondary school students.

We conducted a survey with youth across the GTA. Here’s what we found:

0 in 5
teens have considered a career in medicine
0 %
of these teens are looking for learning opportunities
0 %
of youth cite difficulties finding these opportunities

Our Focus

PuMP looks to make a difference by connecting students with learning opportunities, while also encouraging community involvement by providing resources, local events and conferences. By creating transparency between students and this ever-changing, competitive field, the organization looks to empower youth to continue exploring possible careers in medicine.
